Hana could feel it again... he was worried, again, most likely worried about her. She rested a hand on his arm and gave him one of her warm smiles. She felt a sudden onset of weariness down to her bones, it made her feel like she would collapse. Luckily her house was not far from here.

“That sounds like a good idea.”

"Okay, you know it's not too far," Hana smiled cheerily, even though she found it hard to focus. Actually it was really difficult to focus on anything right now. He seemed deep in thought, and she wondered, idly, what was he thinking about? He seemed solemn, and she couldn't help but feel worried about him a bit. They were a selfish odd pair, neither willing to give in and be one of the blue bloods who accepted things with ease. But in her memories of the past, things had always been like that.

They made it through the park reaching the other side, where the wealthy lived. Her family owned a small [as in smaller then her mansion] loft here, she used it mostly, so it was styled to her tastes, so basically simple and elegant, with only light pastel type colors. She opened the door, fumbling with the key a bit. And entered, letting the kitten down so it could roam and learn the layout of this large place.

Then she felt a tightness in her chest, coughing abruptly, it wracked her entire slight body. This time there was blood, she cleaned it away before dropping on the couch. "Aiden, just drop the stuff and come sit with me," She smiled, her pink lips a surprising contrast to her ghostly pale skin.

Aiden did as instructed, placing her bag on the floor against the counter he’d set his books atop before joining her on the couch. “Maybe we should get you something to eat,” he suggested, although he wasn’t exactly sure it would help her at all. She needed blood, and he’d happily go and find a willing donor for her if she’d allow it. They were going to need to talk about this soon, he knew, but he would put it off for a little while.

The boy put an arm around his surprisingly pale girlfriend, not caring to abide by her shy customs at the moment. They were alone, anyway, and he was feeling far more protective now that it was clear that she was suffering… being a bit more affectionate seemed to some with the package somehow.

“Do you want me to put on a movie?” he asked, although his patience was slowly wearing away. He was pretty sure he’d caught the smell of blood – her blood, - and he would not have much more of this. He’d take her to the doctor himself if he had to. Dangle some poor red blood in front of her like a piece of meat. After all, she was weak… it would all be so much easier for him.

“Maybe we should get you something to eat.”

"I'm not hungry though... actually the thought of eating makes me feel rather ill. Besides I am sleepy..." She knew he would keep pushing the subject, she knew he hated to see her so pale and ill but it bothered her still. Blood was a life line, she knew that as the angel of healing, and it was part of the reason that she hated to take blood, or eat meat.

She flushed bright colors as he wrapped an arm about her, but cuddled in close enjoying the feel of his warm body against her cool, pale one. He was very comforting, and it was part of the reason she enjoyed his company so much.

“Do you want me to put on a movie?”

"Sure, if you want, all my movies are next to the dvd player," Hana spoke softly, resting her head on his shoulder, she was so tired, sleep sounded good. The peace of the darkness, a violent cough shook her out of the half asleep state, and she winced lightly before speaking huskily, "Don't worry... it is nothing too bad. I have... emergency blood bags." They weren't as effective as drinking from red bloods but it also wasn't living human beings, just the plastic packages of donated blood.

That was absolutely the last straw. The girl was practically passing out on him (or, well, she might’ve if it wasn’t for the coughing) and she was still going to try to convince him that everything was alright? As far as he could tell, everything was far from alright. She was falling too ill too fast and he was pretty sure that he wouldn’t be able to take any more of this.

“I think you should get them now,” he said. It was certainly better than not having any blood at all, although he was thinking she may have pushed herself to the point where blood bags wouldn’t help her enough. He wasn’t sure if that was possible or not, but it certainly seemed like it would be. It was for that very reason that he took the blood fresh… well, that and because he couldn’t imagine old blood tasting very good…

He’d completely forgotten about the movie, tightening his grip on her a bit as he prepared to lift her up if need be. “You’re really not taking this seriously enough, Hana. I can’t believe you’ll make a big deal about my dreams and then ignore the fact that you’re withering away right in front of me.” He didn’t want to make it seem like he was accusing her of anything, but he was hoping that being a bit more stern might get her to attempt to fix herself…

“I think you should get them now.”

"I am fine," Hana insisted stubbornly, she was just a bit ill, this wasn't the worst it had ever gotten, not that she would divulge that bit of information. Since meeting him she had gotten much better with the drinking of blood even if it made her stomach turn. Time was she would pass out until someone forced the blood down her throat, and she hated that. They nagged her all the time, but she ignored it.

His grip tightened and she flinched, "Ow, Aiden, your hurting me." He was stronger than he let on, then again he was a blue blood. “You’re really not taking this seriously enough, Hana. I can’t believe you’ll make a big deal about my dreams and then ignore the fact that you’re withering away right in front of me.”

"They are two totally different situations!! You are rejecting something that's a huge part of you, a part of us! Not that you would know since you reject the memories! I cherish those memories of the past. Past lives were you held me and cherished me, protected me from those who suspected we were something more than human. I cherish the memories... you reject them."

He was right about one thing, she did need the blood despite how much she hated it. Tugging herself free of Aiden she gave him a dark look, before heading into the kitchen and opening the second fridge, it was locked with a key code so visiting red bloods couldn't get in. She took the packet out and frowned at it. She could already smell it, and crave it more intensely. How cruel was this fate they had been condemned to... Cutting the top off she poured it into the glass, opting for drinking it out of a glass rather than sinking her fangs into the blood packet like some primitive animal. She drank it down swiftly, holding her reflex to retch it all back up. The blood helped a bit, and she felt a bit better, and she moved to sit across from Aiden, glass still in hand. She was still vexed with Aiden however, and watched him silently.

Aiden let go of her immediately, leaning forward and propping himself against his knees as she headed into the kitchen. He hadn’t meant to hurt her, of course. Intimidate her a little, maybe, but never hurt her. He could smell the blood in the air when she opened it, so he could at least satisfy himself with the knowledge that she was taking care of things, but, mixed with the shame and guilt he was currently feeling, it did little to lighten his mood.

Her words stung so that he was too far in shock to even remind her that she was denying a part of herself by refusing blood. In fact, he didn’t retaliate at all, just stare blankly at the floor as he tried to undo everything that had just happened with his thoughts (something he knew was, of course, impossible). It was amazing how quickly things changed in just a few seconds.

He both felt and heard (not to mention smelled) her near him again soundlessly, but he wasn’t really ready to say anything still. Did it really mean so much to her that he remember who she was in some other life? Why? He just couldn’t understand it. Wasn’t who she was now so much more important than the past that had come with her? He certainly didn’t want to be known for his previous occupation (or, rather, calling). Maybe it wasn’t as dark as it sounded, but did it really matter.

This was the first time he could remember their differences clashing in a way that was less than happy. He wanted so badly to just please her, but It just went against everything he’d taught himself to care about to become Saraqael. Why wasn’t Aiden enough? Standing, he said “I should probably go,” in a voice that was shockingly flat for the usually lively boy.

Hana sat, not in the least enjoying the silence for once, she placed the glass down on the table between them. She felt sick again, she didn't even feel like finishing the drink. He didn't get it, he still didn't get it. That's why it was necessary for him to open his eyes and accept the memories of the past, it would allow him to understand who and what she was. To accept himself. She loved him as he was, but she wanted him to love himself as well. Accept all of himself.

His voice was cold as he spoke next, “I should probably go.” She glanced up in a panic as he stood, no she didn't want him to leave, it was her fault they'd argued. She never lashed out it was against her nature. "No... wait," she moved around the table with ease, pausing then going against her nature wrapping her amrs about his body, clinging to his shirt, "I'm sorry... please don't leave me a-" She cut of her sentence she had no need to finish it, he would know she was going to say alone. To let him leave after saying such cruel things, would make her feel isolated and alone, and she'd always hated the feeling of loneliness.

"I'm sorry I said such stupid things... I just wish you'd accept Saraqael, because he isn't Saraqael, Saraqael is just a part of who Aiden is, a small part... and you would understand. The Angel of Death is merely the flip side of what I am. I take care of them in life... and then... when I fail, they are in your hands to have a peaceful afterlife or to be reborn. You aren't horrible or cursed... your you. And I just want you to remember what we have been and what we have had it will let you better appreciate what we are and have now... like I do."

Her voice was muffled as she hid her face in his shirt, refusing to look at him and show him how embarised spilling her heart like this left her. She wasn't used to behaving like this. "And I understand you view me a hypocrite but what I do is in my nature... would you love me if I was anything different than what I am?"

Aiden put his arms around her, finding it difficult to deal with all of the emotions he was feeling today. He wasn’t angry with her, of course. She didn’t have anything to apologize for... he was just angry with himself for letting all of this happen. She was right. Everyone was right and he knew it. He needed to accept his memories and have away with all of this secrecy where they were involved. It just wasn’t healthy; particularly not when she could still anticipate his every thought.

His grip on her was very loose now; his motions guarded so as to avoid the fiasco they had just gotten out of. Aiden knew that he probably didn’t need to be so gently now that her strength was returning, but he couldn’t help it. The thought of hurting her actually made him feel physically sick, and he hated feeling ill.

Kissing her head, he told her, “I would love you as anything,” feeling a bit exposed as he said it regardless of whether or not it was the truth. “I could never leave you.” His assurances were the only things he could offer her at the moment, but he knew that they were the real, unchanging truth. He didn’t need other lives to know that, but he was beginning to think that he might have to try for her… at a price, of course, but that could all wait for later.

She let out a sob of relief when he returned her hug, she'd been half afraid he'd simply push her off or even worse just stand there as if she wasn't pouring her heart out to him. It relieved her to be in his arms like this, then again she knew him, he accepted her with all of her flaws, where as most people just saw her as an unapproachable genius, flawless and one of the perfect ones. She'd never realized truly how lonely she was until she'd met him at the party and they'd brushed by each other. The bond had been there, reaffirmed through an accidental touch. And she'd known exactly what it was, simply not what to do in the situation.

Hana wrapped her arms around him and clung to hi as if he were her life line. She was silent except for an occasional sob that escaped her, but she was doing her best not to allow him to see the tears of relief that were escaping her bright blue eyes. She sought out the comfort he always provided and she would never be able to get enough of.

She flushed as he kissed her head, and spoke once again her voice muffled. "I love you too, and my heart will always belong to you." It was stupid to say but she meant it, since the first time they'd met her heart had belonged to him, whether or not he realized it yet.

Smiling at her words, Aiden stroked her hair a bit, sad to see that she was crying at the same time that he was happy they could never have a real fight. Emotions were so complex and confusing! He really didn’t know how people did this all the time. Aiden was almost always sure of himself until it came to something like this and then suddenly it was as if he was trapped in a stranger’s body watching him do everything.

“Don’t worry, Hana… everything will be fine,” he cooed softly, hoping to help her relax a bit. It was far too early for the day to be so full already. He remained there for a moment, not wanting to break away from her too soon when she was in this condition (had he really never noticed how fragile she really was? Power could be deceiving…) He imagined she could do with some rest, however, so he eventually pulled away and took her hand, leading her over to the couch again.

“So how about that movie?” he asked with a smile, switching back to himself quickly. He motioned for her to sit before heading over to the dvd player. “What do you feel like today?” Aiden was a master at acting as if things had never happened…

Meghana calmed down as he stroked her hair gently, she liked the feeling of his hands when they were touching her so gently like this. Emotions were so complex and she always confused when it came to them. For the part though she held them inside, but when it came to Aiden, something just made her feel as if she had no control over her emotions. Something about him simply cracked her cold exterior and revealed the softhearted girl behind it.

“Don’t worry, Hana… everything will be fine.”

"I know... I'm just being a silly girl," she whipped her tears away, smiling bashfully embarrass at the loss of composure. He was however so much stronger than he lead people to believe he was, and the fact was re-affirmed for her as she stood in his arms, his warmth surrounding her. He was lucky, at least to her, as the angel of death he was the ultimate soother of all pains, and could make no mistakes with his patients, that gentleness was something she cherished from him.

Hana followed, not putting up a fuss as he led her to the coach. “So how about that movie?” The dark haired blue blood smiled gently and nodded her agreement, a movie was a good idea, something to relax too. “What do you feel like today?” "Hm... something dramatic... how about the DaVinci Code?" He was acting as if nothing was happening and she thought it wasn't a bad idea at all.

Aiden held back a chuckle at the irony of her choice. The DaVinci Code was so very Hana… not that he minded that at all. Dan Brown was quite the unusual writer, his tales a blend of his own fictional taste and the many legends that surrounded all things heavenly. At least her choice hadn’t been angels and demons; the last thing he needed to be doing was trying to decide where they belonged in that title.

The ‘and’ perhaps?

No matter, this movie wasn’t all religious, and Aiden could certainly enjoy a good car chase. Murdering monks and strange sects… yes, this was just fictional enough for him to appreciate it at the moment. Reading wasn’t his favorite thing to do, of course, but he was perfectly fine with watching a movie at any time.

The blue blood placed the movie into the dvd player and started it up before heading back over to reclaim his spot on the couch, reclining comfortably into his seat. At times he imagined what it would be like if a red blood made them for what they were – vampires enjoying a nice movie on a quiet weekend, just hanging out in their expensive homes. The looks on their face would be priceless, he imagined.

So much for Dracula.
